Summary of Session: Fixing the Crisis in African American Economic Security – As reported by the Joint Economic Committee of the U.S. Congress, huge disparities remain between African Americans and other Americans in the realms of poverty, income and wealth, employment, housing, and education. This panel will examine the nature of the economic challenges facing the African American community as well as efforts that are underway to address them.
